Dry / Warm Samples (TSUs, Hair)

​

• Tissue Sampling Units (TSUs) * Preferred sample method.

  • Place TSUs in a single plastic bag (do not include red tops or cardboard).

  • TSU brands other than Allflex, such as GeneCheck, incur a $2.00 upcharge.

• Hair samples:

  • A good sample is pulled from between hooves with clean nose pliers and includes 40 hair follicles (clear or mucous colored bulbs at the end of the hair)

  • Place hair samples in self-sealing envelopes labeled with the sample ID and the producer or farm name.

• Include your contact information in the padded envelope and send samples to:
